This is supposed to be the new craze in the mani/pedi world. A northern Virginia spa has been offering these fish pedicures for the past couple months. Apparently there are 1,000 flesh eating fish (garra rufa) in a tank that eat away your nasty corns. $35 will get you 15 minutes and $50 for 30 minutes. After your 15 or 30 minutes you’ll also get the standard (snoooze!) pedicure. The only downside is if you’re sharing a tank with someone who has a “surplus” of dead skin, the fish would flock to that individual’s feet (gross!!!!). This service is available at Yvonne Hair and Nail Salon in Virginia (no joke…I also have an aunt by the name of Yvonne who also owns a hair and nail salon that I’m pretty sure is also called Yvonne Hair and Nail Salon…not to mention that she is from Virginia…no really I’m not joking.)

..uhh I think this person needs hankthebanks recommendation of the Ped Egg for that “surplus”.

My recent (and first ever) expedition to Comic-Con ‘08 prompted me to realize several things. First, never underestimate the banshee-like power of a 16-year-old’s shrill screams, especially when they are echoing off the high walls of Hall H in the San Diego Convention Center. B, you may look odd in a costume, but you might as well be Orlando Bloom by the number of people who point and squeal and ask to take your picture. Lastly, although these mythological “free bags” are given out periodically at some point during every day, one can never seem to get their hands on one unless they camp out near the Warner Bros. booth and make googly-eyes at assistants (read: “interns” and/or “temps”) working the desk.
But one thing is certain – and I’m not talking about the inevitable failure of Spider-Man 4 – I’m talking about zombies. They’re alive (?) and well and took over San Diego during Comic-Con.

Nihao 200T! Though not technically “live” from Comic-Con (since I am cozy at home watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives), welcome to my day 1 wrap-up!
So it was an exciting day on Thursday. I spent it all in Hall H (the biggest meeting room in the convention, where most of the large panels are held) watching previews and guest speakers for The Day The Earth Stood Still, Max Payne, Twilight, and Push to name a few. Even with a VERY special guest who had a VERY special piece of footage to show, this day seemed so long! But not as long as someone else’s day.
Let me backtrack…
