REMINDER: 200 Tacos Road Trip ‘08!

Just wanted to remind you guys that we’re (Tinmaker and I) are headed to Vegas in a few days for the first ever 200 Tacos Road Trip! We’re not going to be able to live blog this momentous event because the $10 (we’re guessing here) daily Internet fee is out of our budget.

We’re doing this three parts! It’s been decided.  Also, since its Vegas, we’re going to do a little creative cheating “euphemism for cheating.” We’ve already discussed the room rates here.

Part two and three will probably come post-trip, unless we do a little winning … hehe haha LOL =P

In any case, we’ve been doing a little research, and we wanted to inform you on a few key findings that will play a prominant part on this trip.

First, since gas will probably run us up about a Benny, we found a way to maximize our dinero.

Terrible’s/Primm is offering a nice little promo (second from the bottom) for first time players card members where they match your gas for up to $20. We’ll see how this goes.

In addition, we found this little doozy right hurr.

Other than that, let’s just say Fremont Street will be prominently involved in one of the days. Cheap food + cheap beer = cheap fun! Wish us luck.

Draft Pick: 2 (yes two) Tacos.. and a Roasted Garlic Soup

As the taco lifestyle spreads to all corners of the globe and all strata of society, savvy restaurateurs have infiltrated how to take a simple street food, add a fancy ingredient, and charge insane prices.  ”The Brentwood” in Brentwood, California has figured out a way to take an item usually seen at anywhere from 50 cents to $2, and charge $38.50.  How does one sell a taco for $38?  Add a fancy ingredient like filet mignon and put the restaurant in a fancy neighborhood.  Alas, the $38 taco.  Fortunately for you, if the 2 tacos and soup don’t fill you up, rest assured that you can go to Jack In The Box and buy 29 more.
