200 Tacos Stock Challenge!

Filed under: Uncategorized — hankthebank @ 11:08 pm

Greetings everyone! We understand it’s been a long time since any one has even opened up this little forgotten blog of ours. So, in an effort to continue our mission in promoting spirited competition, as well as drive what is ultimately meaningless traffic to this site, we are proud to announce the Inaugural 200 Tacos Stock Challenge!

Participants are given $100 to build out their portfolio over the course of one month. Players are free to buy and sell their stock as they please, and are allowed to invest in any combination of stocks as they please as long as the transactions are within their budget.

You can keep track of everyone’s performance here on this Google docs spreadsheet. Not a big fan of Google docs, so it still looks very basic, but it should serve its purpose for now.

Here are the guidelines, for the most part.

1) Participants are each given $100 to manage for their stock portfolio.

2) Players are allowed to invest the funds whenever and however they wish. (For example, the player can purchase multiple shares of 1 stock, or multiple stock at 1 share a piece.)

3) Players can buy and sell as they please. There is no commission fee.

4) Stock prices will be recorded on the closing price of that day. This is done so to limit an arbitrary purchases and provides a solid number to go on.

5) Given that transactions will be gauged using closing prices. Intraday trading will not be allowed. This means you will have to hold your stock for at least one full day before selling.

6) This competition will go on until November 1. At that time, the participant with the best return will win the competition.

That is all. I think. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Let’s get started!
