Hi everyone!

Hankthebank told me that because I’m currently in first place, I get the privilege of writing this post to update you all on what’s going on with the stock challenge! So here it is–

I’m winning! Why? Because I’m awesome! AND I have a profit of $18.39.

Looks like everything is on the ups for HanktheBank! However, looks like he’ll make making some changes. HanktheBank is going to sell AAPL and buy one share of SDS. We’ll see if this helps him or hurts him! For my sake, lets hope it hurts him.

The Hurt
Profit: $13.14

Looks like picking only YHOO has proven to be a good, safe bet for the Hurt!

TruckwithouttheKey
Profit: $3.81

TruckwithouttheKey is the only player with losses this week. Both MO and TTES are down.

So it begins again… Back by popular demand, welcome to…. The 200 Tacos Stock Challenge: Part 2! Not much to say here, but let’s do some quick analysis of our players and what they’re carrying.

1. Hank the Bank
Initial Holdings: AAPL, C, GM
Strengths: Smarter than the entire field combined.
Weakness: Got lazy down the stretch (probably due to boredom and lack of challenging opposition) and didn’t execute to close out the game.
Strategy: Majority of portfolio is betting on blue chip Apple. Safe bet. The rest is betting on the most distressed companies in the most distressed sectors. Nice balance, wouldn’t you say?

2. Tinmaker
Initial Holdings: COKE, BBY, LIZ
Strengths: N/A
Weakness: Tends to rely on retail for some reason, which was the sole reason for an embarrassing performance in the last contest. Looks to be more of the same this time around.
Strategy: Buy names you see at the mall, regardless. RE. GARD. LESS.

3. Truckwithoutthekey
Initial Holdings: MO, ABT, BMY, TTES
Strengths: Knows how to Google “good stocks.”
Weakness: Still doesn’t know how to find “good stocks.”
Strategy: Huh?

4. The Hurt
Initial Holdings: YHOO
Strengths: Willing to lie and manipulate. No scruples, dignity, self-respect, integrity, etc. to hinder desire to win.
Weakness: Incapable of winning.
Strategy: Randomly pick ONE stock, and hope to get lucky.

So far, The Hurt is in the lead with about a 6% pop today because someone equally as dumb thinks it’s a good idea to try to raise money and buy Yahoo. Dollar to donuts Yahoo sinks within the end of the week. That’s all for now, ingrates.

So…I’m pissed. In any case, congrats Truckwithoutthekey. You managed to win the first ever 200 Tacos Stock Challenge by randomly and blindly picking stocks. To make matters worse, the only thing to top your incompetence was the negligence displayed by Kel Kel from Hell Hell, who managed to beat everyone by not even looking at this blog once during the competition. But, in the spirit of competition, we can’t possibly let her win now, can we? But whatever, congrats Truckwithoutthekey.

Ass.

This is absolutely ridiculously. Well, actually it was kind of expected. Anyway, after the worst week in the stock market, we start off this week with THE BEST SINGLE DAY EVER! The 200 Tacos Stock Challenge is now really rolling! All stock indexes are up at least 11 percent today. Ridiculous? No. ReDONKULOus! Here we go for today.

Well, after enduring the worst week in the stock market’s history, it’s safe to say everyone’s portfolio in the 200 Tacos Stock Challenge has been ravaged. With that said, there’s been an awful shake up in our rankings. No one has made any changes to their portfolios since the start of the contest, but we’ll see what next week brings. Without further ado…

Here’s the latest update on the 200 Tacos Stock Challenge 2008. The Dow plunged over 800 points today as the global markets contemplated armageddon. But after brief deliberation and realizing that they had errands to run, armageddon was postponed to a later date yet to be determined. The Dow surged back roughly 450 points accordingly. So….

Notes: Has yet to make her picks. Thanks Hurt.

2. TruckwithouttheKey:
Profit: $-5.89 ($94.11 overall)
Notes: Was stupid and bought more Wachovia after it improbably doubled. Now it’s stuck in a mess with Citi and WeFa. Good one.

3. Hank the Bank:
Profit: -$6.09 ($93.91)
Notes: Masterful defense has him avoiding double digit losses like the losers below.

4. The Hurt
Profit: -$10.20 ($89.80)
Notes: Broke double digit losses. Still has no idea what they’re doing…but still doing better than…

So far, the 200 Tacos Stock Challenge has kicked off without a hitch. Here are the rankings so far after two days of intense competition.

Profit: $2.30 ($102.30 overall)
Notes: Wachovia doubled the day after she bought it on news that Wells Fargo would acquire it. Citigroup is contesting because they had a prior deal with WaKo. Don’t give TWOTK too much credit. She also bought Gucci, which isn’t even a public company. (Meaning it doesn’t have stock.)

2. Kel Kel from Hell Hell
Profit: $0.00 ($100.00)
Notes: Has yet to make her picks. Thanks Hurt.

3. Hank the Bank:
Profit: -$2.99 ($97.01)
Notes: Nothing really happening here. Stocks were up and down because of the bailout bill.
